Trash Can Etiquette

Everyone is familiar with the saying....Love thy neighbor; but it is extremely important that we love and respect the rules of neighborhood etiquette.

Trash is unsightly, smelly, cumbersome; it is trash after all, and that is the reason we get it out of our houses! Please do not leave your trash cans out for days on end after pickup, or keep them perpetually by the curb, in your front yard, or in front of your garage! Yes, our new trash containers are big and ugly, but please consider how those blue and black containers look where you have placed them. A quick drive around our addition and you will find those containers sitting in front yards, in front of garages and any manner of various places. Maybe if they had little white lights wrapped around them they would at least be pretty at night! Please neighbors, Burning Tree is starting to look like.....(you fill in the blank)

A daunting task perhaps, but some suggestions have been to keep them behind a fence, on the side of the house hidden by some shrubs or trees, or in the garage. Please remember to pick up garbage and recycling containers in a timely manner. And don't forget, Mamma wouldn't be happy as common sense trash can etiquette vanishes in our fast-paced world..............
